While there is no single degree requirement for medical school, generally individuals who apply to medical school obtain degrees in either the sciences, such as biology, chemistry or neuroscience, pre-med or nursing. Even if individuals do not have a desirable degree, they can still stand a strong chance of being accepted into medical school if they have coursework in the sciences.
Aside from having a desirable degree or coursework, individuals should also have a strong MCAT score as well as outstanding letters of recommendation.
