The amount of online courses students are allowed to take per semester depends on their degree requirements, course prerequisites, and each course’s credit value and per credit costs. Usually, full-time student status allows students to enroll in between 3 and 5 courses per semester. Some online universities may also offer summer and winter sessions for those students who wish to accelerate their graduation date.
Students should not enroll in more courses than they can handle. Before developing a course schedule, students should consult with their online academic advisors to ensure that they meet their academic goals in a timely manner.
