While each online university’s conduct code will differ, most take their codes of conduct very seriously. Before enrolling in an online university, most individuals are required to sign an academic integrity pledge, and are made aware of the consequences of various actions. If plagiarism is suspected, students could face not receiving course credit, being suspended or even being expelled. For less serious academic misconducts, online universities may just issue a warning to the offender.
