Generally, online universities do issue certificates of academic achievement to qualifying students. Part of the reason why online universities issue awards, is to promote academic excellence as well as competition. Recognition of academic achievement may come in the form of a Dean’s list, a certificate or a letter of recognition. Either way, students will be able to list such awards on their academic or career resumes.
