Depending on each individual online university’s academic policies, students may be able to extend their online courses in cases of illness, tragedy or other legitimate excuses. If students do not have a legitimate excuse, online universities may not grant them credit for those courses, or may charge them extra.
Before enrolling in an online course, students should find out the instructor’s individual policies as well as the university’s academic policies. It is best if most students attempt to finish up their coursework on time.
